Universal Works: Coming so soon you can taste it

(via Selectism)

Pursuitist (how do I pronounce that?) delivers a quick Q&A with Universal Works founder, David Keyte. When asked where the line resides in the market, “With someone like Oi Polloi, we are much more with our peers and like brands. But we also have some skate stores and some less fashion-type stores who buy the collection, as well as more tradition stores like Fenwick’s of Bond Street. We really love that, it’s well – universal! Really our peers are anyone selling well-made, understated non-branded honest clothes for men. There are a few out there in the US, Scandinavia and, especially, Japan.”

Mexico is getting next, next level...

"Mexico City, Mexico (CNN) -- A lead investigator and another official looking into the massacre of 72 migrants whose bodies were found this week in northern Mexico are missing, President Felipe Calderon said Friday."

Oh, you're gonna come snoop around our corpse pile just when it was getting profitable? Doubt it.... We'll off you too.... Anybody else have any questions? No? Didn't think so.

Wow Mexico.... Your country is in complete shambles

"It's a bit like "Pulp Fiction". "Elvis or Beatles? And I can tell by your shoes you would be an Elvis fan." Take a look at your shoes."

This was such an appropriate comment to my motorcycling quandary, that I had to check out his blog and show it some love!

I get the feeling Chris really knows what he's talking about kids.... And when I start building my Norton, guess who's gonna get incessant, novice emails.... Oh yes, that'll be Chris.

Read his blog. Expand your mind. Rebuild your carburetor

I am ready for my first Motorcyle: Do I go Harley or Triumph?

Looking for opinions from the Craft LA faithful....

Kinda dig the Iron 883 stripped down, with the mini-apes OR....

Go Bonneville and Bob that thing out too....

Keepin' it in the family

Our favorite sibling regulars paid us a visit today. Add Dad and Grandma in the mix and I felt like I was home for a traditional Jewish-family brow beating. Nothing like family to tell you the truth about yourself...

Jason, wearing his newly hemmed Denime's, shows off his well worn and patched Union Stars. Jason's the guy to see if you need to replace the head gaskets on your late model BMW....

Preach on Sister....

In regards to all the silly partisan posturing about the Mosque near ground zero...

"This is party politics as usual with respect to all of these wedge issues," said Jacqueline Salit, president of independentvoting.org, a national strategy and organizing center for independents. "I think there's more and more of a steady recognition that these kind of wedge issues and political manipulation, sensationalism and opportunism is exactly what is degrading the American political process and our democracy."

(full article here)

I was hoping Obama would put a stop to the Rove-ian poltical strategy of mobilizing your party base with bullshit..... Hasn't happened yet...

PROUD members, of a very exclusive club!

Our first delivery of the superlative Japanese label Kapital, will arrive at the end of this month! For those of you that are familiar with the brand, we needn't say anything further. For those of you being introduced to it for the first time, Kapital is perhaps THE most inspired, and well executed Japanese apparel brands. Fabrics are incredible, fits are intriguing and poetic. Their lookbooks alone serve as fodder for more of the American fashion business than many would care to admit.

We will be carrying a solid breadth of the Fall and Winter collections, the first delivery of which will be center on 5 Pocket denim. Kapital's goods are RARELY seen outside of their own mono-brand stores in Japan. We consider ourselves extremely lucky and are honored to have it on our shelves. Stay tuned!

I've always found war propaganda fascinating....

Fuck Cancer, Get Money

Lauren was good friend of my younger brother Josh, who lost his battle with Leukemia two years ago. This will be the second year she has run a charity marathon in Josh's honor, to raise money for Cancer research. My family's truly touched by her devotion to the cause (not to mention her athleticism..... I get tired running to the refrigerator.....). Please read her letter below. At the bottom is a link where you can donate and sponsor Lauren's run if you see fit.

"Hey, there.

I'm doing it again! I'm training on The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's team for the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco in October.

Two years ago, a good friend of mine, Josh Sack, passed away from Leukemia. Josh was an incredible drummer, comedian, and friend ---and last year I completed a marathon in his honor.

As I crossed the finish line, I thought my journey was over. However, events of the past year have made me realize that the fight against blood cancers is never over. This spring, a close friend of mine lost his father to lymphoma. David Zeehandelaar was not just a lawyer, pilot, and avid traveler; he was an incredible friend, husband, and father.

And so, in honor of Josh and David, I've decided to do it again! This year I’ll also be mentoring new Team in Training participants, who will be joining me in raising money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS), which helps support those battling leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma.

I know I’ve pushed the limits of your generosity already, but please consider giving again. As long as cancer continues to affect our lives, we must continue to fight back. I’ll be running 26.2 miles as part of my fight. I hope you’ll join. Please use the link in this email to donate online quickly and securely (plus learn more about my progress)!

Thank you so much for your support!

Best,
Lauren"
